Sustainability is Second Nature for Senreve
Renowned accessory label, SENREVE, is living proof that luxury and sustainability can coexist harmoniously. The label’s CEO, Coral Chung, and CEO of Modern Meadow, Anna Bakst, found it mind-boggling that, although there are so many different bags boasting unique attributes on the market, they still couldn’t quite find the right combination of versatility, functionality, and environmental compatibility. S. o, they decided to just make it themselves.
“Sustainability has been one of the pillars of our brand since the very beginning and our newest Terra Vegan Leather is the culmination of years of research, development, and innovation. The Vegan Terra is in five vibrant colors that look and feel and have the durability and luxurious quality of animal leather, but is actually lab originated,” says Coral Chung. She continues, “We are thrilled to be the first ever brand to launch this innovative lab-origin material. It is our next-generation vegan leather and our most sustainable yet. We really can't wait for our community of fashionistas (who really know their stuff!) to touch and feel it and see how luxurious it really is.”
All of Senreve’s pieces are consciously constructed, but with their latest collection, they took “eco-friendly” to an unprecedented level. By partnering with BioFabbrica, Senreve is the first brand to employ a 100% traceable Lab-to-Brand™ sustainable vegan material — Biotex™. Talk about breaking that glass ceiling — these female co-founders not only built a completely unique business model from the ground up, but they are also building a more considerate and conscious fashion narrative, one bag at a time.
Biotex™ begins its conception in the United States at Modern Meadow labs, before making its way to Italy, where artisans carefully craft accessories. The material consists of BioAlloy, a blend of lab-selected proteins, and bio-based polymers, which provide a lightweight feel, mimicking real leather, without the consequences. From there, it becomes integrated into SENREVE’s most thoughtfully produced and sustainably sourced collection yet.
The collection consists of three styles — The Cadence Crossbody, The Aria Belt Bag, and The Midi Maestra, in five colorways. In tune with the ethos of SENREVE, these bags launched, on Earth Day, but are still available for purchase on senreve.com.
