Gold Dust Woman
Last spring was a historical moment as the singer Stevie Nicks became the first woman inducted twice into the rock-n-roll hall of fame, first with the band Fleetwood Mac and then recently as a solo artist. This editorial is a tribute to her; with her mystical style (chiffon layers, top hat, and shawls), she has performed for decades. She enchants her audience with that style, magical voice, twirling with a tambourine, and poetic lyrics.
I first heard Stevie Nicks sing Gypsy, the Fleetwood Mac song, on the show, Solid Gold. Instantly I became a huge fan and one of the first records I bought was her second album, “The Wild Heart,” featuring the hit song, Stand Back. I still remember the video where she is walking along a treadmill singing the song and holding up a cape.
I think Belladonna is an amazing album, it launched her solo career, and each song on the record is captivating. She still tours with her band. I continue to look forward to what she does next.
