Cameron Crovetti
1. Name?
Cameron Crovetti.
2. Where did you grow up and where do you currently live?
I grew up in Los Angeles and I currently live in Chicago.
3. What made you want to start acting?
My entire family is in the business. My dad is a producer and writer, and my mom was an actor, who is now a talent manager and coach. My sister started acting first. I visited her on the set of her show, “The Neighbors”. I loved the energy on set and how much fun everyone was having. I asked my mom if I could start acting. She made my brother and me wait several years, until we were more mature and really ready to act.
4. Tell us about your role as Ryan Butcher in The Boys.
Ryan plays the son of Homelander. He was raised by his mother in this utopian society that Vought built. Ryan is thrown for a loop when he finds out Homelander is his dad. Ryan then goes through an emotional roller coaster dealing with Homelander as a father and trying to navigate his relationship with him.
5. What is your favorite part about the production?
Omg, so many things. It was one of my dreams to play a character with powers. I love the entire cast and crew. It is such a fun show to film, I get to do my own stunts and to play a character with a lot of layers. I love that the writers have written a really complex character for a kid. They have written some amazing scenes for Ryan and challenged me as an actor which was “incredible fun to film.”
6. What can you tell us about the upcoming season?
There are a lot of twists and turns in Season 2. It is wilder than Season 1. The fans get to see Homelander try to be a dad, which is funny and scary at the same time.
7. Did you have any challenges when getting into character?
It was not challenging to get into character. However, there were some challenging scenes for me as an actor, due to the stuff that Ryan has to deal with.
8. You and your twin brother have worked together in multiple projects such as Big Little Lies and Anywhere with You. What is it like acting with him?
Nick and I have so much fun when we work together. However, if either one of us has a scene while the other does not, we hate watching each other. It is like having your best and worst fan watching you act. We always make each other go to the video village, which us far away from the set. We also play lots of pranks on people on set. For BLL we were always tricking the AD on set. One time I wore my “Scream” costume from Halloween on set, and we had fun scaring people.
9. What type of film would you like to try acting in next?
I would love to be in a Marvel film. I am a competitive gymnast so it would be fun using my skills for a superhero role.
10. Who is your inspiration, and why?
I love Ryan Reynolds. I love that he can be crazy funny and also such a great dramatic actor at the same time.
11. What are some of your long-term goals?
I would love to be a director. I met James Wan at the Aquaman premiere, and I was so nervous to meet him. He thought it was so funny that I had watched some of his scarier films. I love his movies and would love to direct one day.
12. Aside from acting, what do you like to do during your free time?
I love making movies with Nick. We are also into Magic The Gathering. We love to travel as a family and ride horses. I also play the guitar.
13. Do you have any exciting, upcoming projects that you would like to share?
I am currently on hold for several projects but I can't talk about any of them.
14. Motto in life?
All progress occurs outside of the comfort zone.
