Melanie Liburd
Melanie Liburd, born in Hertfordshire, England, started out as a fashion and beauty model, and she traveled all over the world. She currently appears in Power Book II: Ghost as Carrie Milgram. Season 2 airs the week on November 21st on STARZ. She is also seen in This Is Us, Gypsy and Dark Matter.
How did it feel coming back for season 2? (The vibe on set, the costumes, seeing everyone again, etc.)
It was so exciting coming back for season two, especially after a tough pandemic. The cast is like a family and is very supportive of each other so it's such a great environment to be free and work in. Our head of costume, Frank Fleming, is the most incredible designer; it's literally a fashion show.
What is different about this season/what do fans have to look forward to?
This season has so many shocking moments and unexpected twists. New and interesting alliances are formed and Carrie finds herself in some scary and compromising situations. It seems wherever Carrie goes there's drama.
If you could give your character advice heading into season 2, what would it be?
I'd tell her to stop getting involved in other people’s business, Ha-Ha.
What was the hardest scene to shoot in episode 201? What was the most fun?The hardest scene was when Carrie is tricked into identifying Jabari's body at the morgue. I'm not sure Carrie has had that much fun this season.
Why should fans tune in tonight at MIDNIGHT EST on the @STARZ App?
Fans should tune in because we had so much fun filming, and the story lines are insanely wild this season. Courtney Kemp and our writers do an amazing job.
How do you get into character?
To get into character I read the script, get into Carries American accent, listen to music.
What’s something people don’t realize about what goes down on set?
Our entire crew works extremely long hours every day and doesn’t get much sleep. It can be a grueling schedule of early starts and late finishes for months at a time, and we really appreciate them for it!
Any other fun tidbits from shooting episode 201?
Carrie is on a mission this season to find the truth even at the expense of others. Ethics is a big theme this season. I've been challenged so much as an actress on this show. I've explored being an addict, being in a codependent and abusive relationship, being a professor, prosecutor, and investigator. It's really a dream job!
