Coming from modeling, how did you start working within the film/TV industry? Do you prefer one over the other, or love them equally?
I actually started acting first. I got scouted by an agent when I was 7 for acting. I mostly did commercials until I was a teenager. I got scouted by a modeling agent when I was about 13 and since I was already acting, I figured I should give it a try. The modeling world is an interesting one. Although I had mostly good experiences and have traveled to some incredible places, acting will always be my passion. However, I do love doing photoshoots now when I represent myself. It feels a lot more creative.

Would you say you gained a lot of medical knowledge while working on your current show, Nurses?
I feel like I have learned more than I expected to, but also know it doesn't even scratch the surface of what real nurses know.

What can we expect in season 2 of Nurses?
You can expect more tense medical cases, new love interests, and the five main nurses becoming closer than ever.

How do you like to spend your time when you aren’t working
When I am working, I'm often traveling or super busy so when I'm not I try to spend as much time as I can with my friends and family. I also have a little rescue dog named Scout with whom I love to go on hikes.

Where is your family from? Do you visit them a lot?
We all live in Vancouver. I live a five minute drive from them, and we are lucky enough to spend lots of time together.

What about your character in Nurses do you resonate the most with?
Grace is described as the Heart; she cares so much about people and is always putting her work and patients before herself. She’s strong, caring, and determined. I often put everyone before myself (sometimes to a fault), and I care a lot about the people in my life. My friends often call me Mama T because I'm always the one to organize, prepare, and keep everyone together, much like Grace.

How does it feel to have such a wide and global fan base? Is there anything specific you want your followers to know about you?
It's pretty incredible, I feel incredibly lucky. I try to use my platform for as much good as possible--to raise awareness and to talk about things that often go unmentioned. I think I am pretty open in general and especially on my social platforms, so I'm not sure there is anything they don't already know.

What about filming Dirty John did you enjoy the most?
There are two things:
1. I got to film on the Universal Studios backlot, which was a childhood dream. I burst into tears as I drove onto the lot the first day.
2. Working with Chris Mason. It was interesting because we were playing the younger versions of Amanda Peet and Christian Slater, so we never got to work with them, all of my stuff was with Chris and we got along so well. We were surrounded by such talented creatives, who made such a great environment for us to work in.

Would you ever be interested in being behind the camera? Writing or directing?
At some point absolutely. I am not much of a writer. I don't have the patience to sit down and write, but I absolutely am interested in directing. My friend RJ ( Dr. Evan Wallace on nurses) and I are hoping to direct a short film that he wrote this spring.

With the end of 2020, is there anything you learned about yourself, mentally and/or physically, that you want to bring into 2021?
I think I learned that I'm more adaptable than I had realized. We had just started filming Season 2 when we got shut down and sent back home for four months. We started filming again as one of the first projects in Canada to start. We had to learn all of these new protocols completely, and I am really proud of how well I handled all the uncertainty. I realized the importance of taking things day-by-day and that it's impossible to have an answer to everything. That and you can't own to many sweatsuits!

What is your life motto?
Hmmm, I don't really know. Smile and be kind. It'll make you feel better, but it'll make others feel even better and that's the real win. Also, as creatives there are always going to be people who hate what you make, but the fact that you made something that people can hate is pretty frickin incredible.
