Acne Studios Spring / Summer 2025 Womenswear Collection
Acne Studios debuted its Spring / Summer 2025 Womenswear collection at Paris Fashion Week. “The idea for this collection started from a twisted domestic scenery. I asked myself whether classic domestic codes could actually be translated into fashion,” says Creative Director Jonny Johansson in a press release. “The end result is domestic and alien.” Draped curtains, wax tablecloths, and upholstery are reconceptualized as clothing. Silhouettes are intense and distorted, with clothing being dramatically reduced in size or greatly exaggerated. Hybrid silhouettes are created through unpredictable layering. Prominent fabrics include denim, leather, hand-crochet knits, boiled mohair, cotton, lycra jersey, and latex. Throughout this collection, you’ll see oversized bows, vintage florals, polka dots, and plaid checks. The color palette consists of brown, grey, camel, black, powdery pink, vanilla yellow, blue, pearl, orange, bubblegum, and coral. The collection also presents the new Camero bag, which draws inspiration from vintage camera bags.
An installation by visual artist Jonathan Lyndon Chase served as the backdrop. In his artistic style, Jonathan Lyndon Chase reimagined household items like lamps, fans, sinks, radios, and picture frames. Chase shared, “I want to put a lens on interior moments – these domesticated, soft, tender moments. I was thinking a lot about comfortability and vulnerability; existing unapologetically in your own space. The outside world is chaotic and hard, and I think people can consider trying to be softer.”
