How would you describe your character, Diana, in “Tell Me Lies?”
Ambitious, smart, driven, kind, competitive, charitable, co-dependent.
What goes into the mindset of bringing the character to life?
Thinking about the character’s background: What kind of family she comes from, where she was born and raised, etc. Also, what are her motivations, wants, and needs
Your educational background is at Julliard. Your experience in productions such as “King Lear,” “Trojan Woman,” and “House of Joy” are a great foundation to the roles you’re doing now. Are there any other experiences that shaped you into the actor you are?
Growing up, my parents showed me a range of movies, from “Usual Suspects” to “Donnie Darko.” Being exposed to these wonderful films inspired me to become an actor and fueled my passion for the craft.
You were previously in a mystery-drama, “The Society.” What was the process like to work with such a wide-ranging cast?
So much fun! I learned a lot from my cast mates who had so much collective experience that helped me grow as an actor.
You play Maya in the upcoming film, “Bleecker.” Tell us about the process of bringing her to life.
Maya’s story is similar to my own, moving to New York City to pursue her passions. I drew a lot on my own life and personal experiences.
You are also stylish. What are some of your favorite trends or designers at the moment?
I am obsessed with handmade knit wear, knee knee-high boots, and Korean street wear.
Who are some people you look up to in the industry?
Director Ari Aster, comedian Maria Bamford, and Jordan Peele.
What are some shows that have really got you hooked recently?
I have been loving “The Patient” on Hulu and “House of the Dragon.”
Where do you see yourself in the next chapters of your career?
I would love to be cast in a horror or psychological thriller.
