This month, NeueHouse Madison Square hosted a Tastemakers Dinner in collaboration with Lucciola Wine Club, an esteemed community dedicated to elevating the appreciation of fine wines. This partnership marked a seamless blend of NeueHouse’s commitment to cultural innovation and Lucciola’s expertise in Italian winemaking, creating a refined dining experience that explored the artistry of both food and wine.

The evening began with an array of elegant canapés, each meticulously paired with Arneis white wine to awaken the palate. Guests indulged in aloo tikka arancini with saffron aioli, coriander flower smoked salmon with horseradish crème fraîche, caviar on blini, and triple cream brie crostini drizzled with hazelnut honey. This thoughtful introduction set the stage for a deeper collaboration between NeueHouse’s culinary team and Lucciola’s wine experts.

As the dinner progressed, the synergy between NeueHouse’s elevated hospitality and Lucciola’s deep-rooted wine knowledge became evident. The antipasto course featured a classic steak tartare of hand-cut prime beef, cornichons, Dijon, quail egg yolk, and sourdough toast, accompanied by Vilot Dolcetto D’Alba 2023, a bright and structured red that enhanced the dish’s richness. The pasta course showcased wild mushroom ditalini with roasted mushrooms, porcini cream, and black truffle pecorino, expertly paired with the Bric du Luv Barbera d’Alba 2021, which complemented the dish’s earthy complexity. For the main course, guests enjoyed a braised beef short rib with parsnip mousse, charred carrots, and bone marrow beef jus, served with Caviot Barolo 2020, a bold yet balanced wine that deepened the flavors of the dish. The dinner concluded with a chef-curated cheese plate, accompanied by Scottocastello di Novello Barolo Riserva 2016, a refined vintage that underscored the evening’s dedication to excellence.
