Celebrities Stun In Loewe On The Met Gala Red Carpet

The annual MET Gala took place on the first Monday in May. This year, all eyes were on Spanish luxury fashion house LOEWE, whose creations stole the spotlight. LOEWE’s designs explored the theme of the Costume Institute's Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion exhibition and the evening's dress code, The Garden of Time. Check out our favorite looks from the night by LOEWE:

Ariana Grande

Ariana Grande’s look took inspiration from the iridescence of mother-of-pearl. The molded bustier was crafted from leather and mother-of-pearl. Her pleated silk chiffon skirt was hand-painted to mimic the surface of the iridescent shell.

Anna Wintour

Met Gala co-chair Anna Wintour’s custom look was inspired by an 1889 cape by Charles Frederick Worth and tailoring from the LOEWE women’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection. Anna’s look consisted of a long-sleeved silk satin beaded bias-cut dress and a wool tuxedo with a silk satin shawl. The tulip bouquets on the tuxedo were made from hand-dyed feathers.

Taylor Russell

LOEWE Global Brand Ambassador Taylor Russell wore a high-neck, 3D molded bodice with a draped skirt made in silk crepe marocain. The bodice was printed to create a trompe l’oeil effect mimicking wood marquetry. Taylor’s look was completed with wood effect hair accessories.

Ayo Edebiri

Ayo Edebiri’s halter-neck column dress was made from intricate guipure lace. To create an optical illusion of 3D flowers, the dress was hand-painted and then hand-embroidered.

Mike Faist

Mike Faist’s MET Gala look featured a double-breasted wool jacket, tailored black trousers, a classic white shirt, bow tie, and the Campo derby shoes in brushed calfskin. The radish brooch, inspired by the whimsical motifs of the LOEWE Fall/Winter 2024 women's runway collection, was handcrafted in felt and embroidered with pearls.

Greta Lee

LOEWE Global Brand Ambassador Greta Lee’s look was inspired by the molded jersey shield tops from LOEWE’s Spring/Summer 2023 women’s collection. The column dress was made from white chantilly silk lace and embroidered with 3D flowers.

Alison Oliver

Alison Oliver’s look took inspiration from the tailoring featured in the LOEWE Fall/Winter 2024 men’s runway show. The trapeze coat and train were made from brown silk duchess satin and embroidered with crystals. 16th-century garments and fabrics were repurposed to create the patchwork lining.

Ambika Mod

Ambika Mod’s dress paid homage to the Petal dress by 20th-century designer Charles James by featuring a digitally printed interpretation of the 1951 ball gown. The subtle blur effect is reminiscent of the blurred concept of LOEWE’s Fall Winter 2023 women’s collection. Ambika completed the look with jewelry from the LOEWE x Lynda Benglis collection.

Josh O'Connor

LOEWE Global Brand Ambassador Josh O'Connor’s outfit took inspiration from the exaggerated tailoring of LOEWE’s Fall/Winter 2024 women's runway collection. The look consisted of a single-breasted elongated tailcoat in fine wool, pinstripe wool trousers, a caviar pearl beaded shirt, and a bowed tie brooch from the LOEWE x Lynda Benglis collection. The hand-beaded Campo Biker Boots with floral motifs were a nod to the theme of nature.

Luca Guadagnino

Luca Guadagnino wore a classic black single-breasted suit made from pure silk, a white shirt, Pavé Oval sunglasses in acetate, and Campo derby shoes in brushed calfskin.

Jonathan Bailey

Jonathan Bailey wore a double-breasted white jacket with a contrasting black satin lapel. His shirt features a handcrafted metal peony flower that was hand-painted and embellished with sugar crystals. His black tailored trousers also featured the floral detail. For shoes, he wore the Campo Chelsea boots in calfskin.

Lauren Santo Domingo

Inspired by feather-embellished pieces from LOEWE’s Fall/Winter 2023 women’s collection, Lauren Santo Domingo’s halter-neck column dress was crafted from silk jersey and decorated with hand-printed and embroidered feathers.

Jamie Dornan

LOEWE Global Brand Ambassador Jamie Dornan’s look consisted of a single-breasted black morning coat, blue waistcoat, white shirt, red tie, a Tarantella brooch from the LOEWE x Lynda Benglis collection, and pinstripe trousers. The hand-embroidered caviar pearl embellishments were a nod to the craftsmanship featured in the MET’s exhibition.

Omar Apollo

Omar Apollo's single-breasted wool suit jacket was inspired by LOEWE women’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection. The collar and lapel feature hand-embroidered oversized aluminum bugle beads which represent the flower stem of the handmade crystal-embellished flower pins. The suit jacket was paired with a classic white shirt, tailored trousers, and Campo Chelsea boots.

Dan Levy

Dan Levy wore a double-breasted jacket with a black shirt, tailored black trousers, and Campo derby shoes. The gradient effect of the caviar pearl floral embroidery perfectly matched the ‘Garden of Time’ dress code.

Derek Blasberg and Nick Brown

Derek Blasberg wore a custom forest green double-breasted tuxedo in wool and satin while Nick Brown opted for a navy single-breasted tuxedo in wool and satin.
