New York’s sparkling skyline may be the city’s most famous feature, but Central Park is surely the crown jewel of the city that never sleeps. Central Park has long been a lush, serene release from the bustle of the concrete jungle, serving as a hangout spot for locals since 1858, when it was built and unveiled to the general public by Frederick Olmsted. Olmsted is considered to be a founding father of landscape architecture in the United States. Olmsted was known in the press for “painting with lawns and lakes”, but he was as much of a social reformer as he was an artist. “Well-maintained parks are a place to unite communities and where all can come together and honor the natural wonders of the city - regardless of race, class, or ethnicity,” spoken by Frederick Olmsted. Words that were prophetic then ring true today, nearly 200 years since Olmsted carved the emerald and azure mosaic of lakes, hills, trees, and forests into the center of Manhattan.

Today, Central Park hosts more than 210 species of birds, 438 flora species, and over 20,000 trees. Photos of Central Park boast vivid hues of green, as the space acts as the city’s most immersive outdoor experience. It is one of the largest protected natural areas in the city, so it is not uncommon to see many different animals and types of wildlife. Celebrity sightings in the park are commonplace as well, since the city’s best hotels and priciest real estate surround all four sides of the park.

Loyal locals count on Central Park for more than just fresh air. Shakespeare in the Park draws movie stars and the best of Broadway’s talent to the stage every summer. Jazz bands frequent the park, as well as classical music performers (often performed by young virtuosos from the nearby Juilliard school). Blues and rock and roll bands play open air concerts all day long throughout the park too. The Dairy hosts a children's theater for young kids for the entire summer. There is quite literally art and entertainment for visitors of every age and taste level all year round within Central Park.

New Yorker Veronica Webb, pictured here soaking in the glory of the park’s beauty, never misses her daily walk in the park. She has resided in New York since the mid 80’s when she was a student at Parsons School of Design and modeling for top 7th Avenue designers such as Ralph Lauren, Donna Karan, Isaac Mizrahi, and Calvin Klein. Webb has circled the globe as a 90’s supermodel and now as an influencer, more times than she can count. “Central Park is one of the chicest and most beautiful places in the world,” says Webb.  “I promise you,” she continues, “I discover something new every time I go.” Webb is photographed with stylish accessories, portraying her love for fashion. Webb’s infatuation with fashion reminds us, “The people watching in Central Park is just as superb as the wildlife.”
