CHANEL: COCO NEIGE and Cruise Collect
CHANEL recently released the campaign for its COCO NEIGE 2024/25 collection, available in boutiques as of October 17th. Shot by German fashion photographer Juergen Teller, the 1970s inspired winter sportswear line can be seen in all its glory. In the photos, Gabrielle Chanel’s illustrious Parisian apartment and the mirrored staircase housed within it, regarded as the heart of the CHANEL world, can be glimpsed behind model Loli-Bahia as she stands irreverently on the staircase and drapes herself across the floor and assorted furniture. Her languid, relaxed stance is greatly at odds with the grandiosity of the shoot’s location: Much like an angsty teen, Loli-Bahia stares the camera down with little acknowledgement of the opulence with which she is surrounded.
The clothing itself is a continuation of this contrast, with both the items and photos showcasing the “duality that perfectly reflects the dialogue between the eternal codes of CHANEL and the innovative approach of this collection that combines comfort and style with technical excellence.” In one photo, Loli-Bahia can be seen lying on the floor with her feet propped up on an exquisite marble fireplace while sporting a silk and cashmere set, adorned with pastel colored flowers and double Cs that are vaguely reminiscent of pajamas. Furthering the aforementioned juxtaposition, each combination of items is adorned with indulgent accessories such as a long pearl necklace, quilted gloves, and shearling boots. While the pieces range from more obvious sportswear (a technical jacquard ski jacket and pants in a deep navy blue and a black corduroy jumpsuit paired with snow boots and skis) to slightly more elevated (suede effect pocketed leggings, a bra, and cropped zip-up jacket all in the same quintessential CHANEL jersey fabric) they all retain a central luxurious essence.
The collection provides more than enough excitement for the foreseeable future; however, there is still much to come. On Tuesday, April 29, 2025, the House of CHANEL will reveal its Cruise 2025/26 collection with a show at Lake Como, Italy. The annual Cruise collection takes inspiration from a different locale each year, using the chosen setting as a lens through which the House codes are reinterpreted.
Here’s a glimpse of the COCO NEIGE 2024/25 collection to hold you over until the highly anticipated Cruise collection is unveiled in April:
