Grand Opening of The Blonds Lavish Exhibition at SCAD in Atlanta

A new exhibit at The Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD Fash), centered around New York luxury brand, The Blonds debuted on August 11th with a star-studded event that took place at the Atlanta Museum of Fashion + Film.

Celebrities such as Missy Elliott, Dominique Jackson, Susanne Bartsch, David and Phillipe Blond along with PhotoBook’s very own Creative Director, Mike Ruiz graciously hosted by Michael James O’Brien, Chair of Photography at Savannah College of Art and Design. They gathered to attend the opening of “The Blonds: Glamour, Fashion, Fantasy” at the Atlanta Museum of Fashion + Film, which displays over 80 of the label’s most notable designs as well as their 2019 Disney collaboration.

Known collectively as The Blonds, David and Phillipe got their start in New York club scene, and since then have created designs bordering between clothing and costume. Inspired by embellishments, glitz, glam, and all things luxe, the idea of clothing as a form of gender-free self-expression encompasses their work and serves as the message behind their designs.

Founded in 1978, Savannah College of Art and Design ( also known as SCAD) is a private art school with locations in Savannah, Georgia; Atlanta, Georgia; and Lacoste, France. It was created with specialized art programs drawing in fashion design, film, and creative students from all over the world.
