Griffin Santopietro
Griffin Santopietro is an actor best known for his role as Anthony LaRusso, son of Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio), in Netflix’s “Karate Kid” sequel series “Cobra Kai.” In addition to working on “Cobra Kai,” Griffin has appeared in TV series including “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,” “Bull,” and “New Amsterdam.” This year he will continue his role as Anthony LaRusso in “Cobra Kai.”
What has been your favorite part of working on “Cobra Kai?”
I would say the best part about working on the show is getting to meet and work with such wonderful people. It really feels like a family and for the past four years, they've been a constant in my life, and this has been such a privilege.
How will your character develop further in the upcoming season?
We finally get to see Anthony grow into his own as a character, and we get to see him go through the relatable struggles that all teens can relate to.
Did you always know you wanted to be an actor?
Ever since I was old enough to remember I used to watch my favorite Disney shows and would imagine myself being a part of them. When I found out I actually could, I knew It was what I knew I needed to do.
What has it been like to be a part of a sequel series of a franchise as iconic as the “Karate Kid?”
It's been insane to even picture myself as a part of this franchise. Whenever I see those original movies I can't help but think about how I'm a part of this, and how amazing that is.
What has been your favorite moment of your career thus far?
I would say that one of if not my favorite moments of my career so far it has been the fan reaction to Anthony in season 4. I have watched and re-watched every fan edit of me (which I still can't believe I have), and I have been so happy to see that people really do love this character.
What are you most excited about in your upcoming work?
Now that season 4 is out I'm just so excited to see what the future holds.
What are your goals as an actor?
As an actor, I feel like I am constantly setting new goals and expectations for myself, but I've always had the goal to write and direct my own project.

Do you have any dream roles?
I'm a huge comic book fan so the idea of playing a superhero (or any comic character in general) would be pretty awesome, I also really have fun playing spunky, rebellious characters so I hope I get to do more roles like that.
If you weren’t acting, what would you be doing?
I honestly can't think of anything that could make me as happy as acting does, but if I had to choose I think I would make a pretty kick-ass lawyer.
How do you balance being a teenager with your career?
I wish I knew. In all honesty, it has always been a challenge, but nothing I couldn't manage. I think it's fair to say that every teenager can relate to feeling overwhelmed, but for me acting is what relieves that feeling and helps me feel much more relaxed.

What is your favorite hobby or pastime outside of acting?
If you give me a good comic, that can keep me occupied for the next few hours, but this summer I started boxing, and, although I haven't had the time to get past beginner level, it's still a very fun thing to do.
