Harry Styles Makes a Splash with His First “Ready-To-Wear” Summer Clothing Line

Harry Styles has made a splash with his first ready-to-wear clothing line for Pleasing. As many of us know, he has made a name for himself in the music world, movie world, and beauty world, and has now taken a dive into the retail/fashion world. With his aptitude for fashion, and pushing boundaries on menswear, it’s no shock that he has come out with a genderless clothing line just in time for the summer. With his brand Pleasing, he has created a variety of products like nail polishes, tote bags, fragrances, and now clothing! This summer, or “resort,” collection reflects Styles’ fashion sense with bright, bold colors and 60’s inspired patterns just in time for the beach weather.

Before he was delving into the world of beauty/fashion retail, he shared his love of fashion through many performance or red-carpet outfits. With his sophomore album, Styles went on a two-year-long tour, “Love on Tour,” to perform for thousands of people every night. With his stylist (Harry Lambert) for the tour, they created bright and eclectic ensembles for Styles to wear each night.

He was also able to dabble in other realms of fashion, like becoming a co-chair for the 2019 Met Gala and co-designing a collection for Gucci. Within these projects, he kept in tune with his style aesthetic of vibrant and fun pieces.

As his popularity as a solo artist grew, his brand changed as well. Being in the public eye, we saw his growth in his fashion sense, and finding his own style through his endeavors in other parts of the fashion world. In between the events of the Met Gala and Gucci collection, he created the brand Pleasing in 2021. It started out as an online shop of nail polishes and skincare products, like facial serums and lip balms. As his brand grew, he (and his team) dabbled in creating unisex fragrances in 2023.

Now with the huge success of Pleasing came its first clothing line titled “Hot, Wet, Pleasing Summer,” which was classified as a resort collection. The inspiration (stated on Pleasing’s Instagram) was, “With the lazy, hazy, deliciously long days of summer in our sights, our first-ever resort collection has all the makings of a complete seasonal wardrobe. Bright and saturated … colors are applied to silhouettes that are as accommodating as they are of the moment, intended to be worn with ease and without much thought.” This summer collection caters to all (with genderless styles) who want to bump up their summer wardrobe with bright colors and eclectic prints.

The collection includes apparel like matching shirts and short sets, tracksuits, and accessories. Along with these colorful summertime pieces comes the beach essentials. Brightly colored and funky patterned beach towels are available, as well as tote bags and baseball caps.
