LOEWE has announced the house’s first major exhibition, Crafted World. The exhibition, curated by LOEWE’s creative director Jonathan Anderson, will take place at the Shanghai Exhibition Centre in Spring 2024.

Crafted World will celebrate the house’s Spanish heritage and history, spanning 178 years of creativity and innovation. The exhibition will take the audience on a journey through the brand’s iconic designs and cultural collaborations. It will highlight LOEWE’s evolution from its founding as a leather-making collective in Madrid in 1846 to becoming one of the world’s leading luxury fashion houses.

The exhibition will showcase LOEWE’s progressive approach to fashion and culture, spotlighting LOEWE’s appointment as an official supplier to the Spanish Royal Crown, the brand’s acquisition by LVMH, the establishment of the LOEWE Foundation, the opening of the first LOEWE store in China, the house’s rejuvenation by Jonathan Anderson, and the founding of the LOEWE Foundation Craft Prize. It will feature artifacts and artworks that transport the audience to the sights and sounds of Spain, as well as the front row of the Paris runway. A series of interactive rooms will take visitors inside the visionary imaginations that have inspired LOEWE’s recent collections.

“It’s a story dedicated to the joy of making things by hand, shared by a community of craftspeople and collaborators from around the world, from Indian ribbon-makers and Ecuadorian tapestry artists to South African basket-makers and Chinese bamboo weavers,” LOEWE describes.

Crafted World will be open from March 22nd to May 5th before traveling worldwide. The exhibition will be open to the public and entrance will be free.
