PB Approved: Iota Body
Iota is a body care brand changing the way we think about skin health. Iota describes itself as “nutritional body care” with products that are focused on balancing the skin’s microbiome to create a foundation for healthy skin and prevent issues before they start. Iota’s founder, Monique, wanted to create products that catered to the skin’s microbiota after she went through a series of health scares. The name “iota” comes from the word “microbiota,” the microorganisms that make up our skin’s microbiome. Iota’s formulas are made with globally sourced raw materials derived from natural, botanical sources. Their products are clean, vegan, and cruelty-free. Iota is also Plastic Neutral Certified via rePurpose Global. Their bottles are designed using recyclable plastic and a mix of sustainable bio-resin from plants.
Iota was kind enough to send me their Supervitamin Body Wash + Brightening along with their Superplant Body Serum + w/ 2% Niacinamide. After trying these out for a few weeks, I fell in love. Keep reading for a breakdown of the products:
The Supervitamin Body Wash + Brightening is created with antioxidant-rich superfoods vitamin C, pineapple, blackcurrant, and passionfruit to brighten dull skin. It contains vitamins A, B9, and E to support collagen, hydrate the skin, and repair its barrier. The body wash also includes face-grade actives like Niacinamide for radiance and long-lasting hydration. The pre & postbiotics help to increase microbiome health for better skin.
I love the minimal aesthetic of the packaging and appreciate the easy, mess-free design of the bottle. The body wash goes on like silk and massages into a rich lather. Out of the shower, my skin instantly feels more nourished and hydrated. As someone with sensitive skin, I was relieved to know that Iota’s fragrances are made from clean, non-irritating ingredients. I never experience any irritation when using this body wash. The Mandarin Rind + Cedar Atlas scent smells exactly as described: a warm, woodsy scent with touches of citrus and hints of lavender and rosemary. A nature-inspired scent for everyone.
The Superplant Body Serum + w/ 2% Niacinamide is formulated with superplants spirulina and hibiscus flower to increase cell turnover and even out the skin’s tone. It’s made with multivitamins B3, B12, C, E, and K to give the skin radiance and support elasticity. It’s fragrance-free and contains face-grade actives Niacinamide and Hyaluronic Acid.
This product has quickly become of one my body care favorites. I love how smooth, soft, and calm my skin feels whenever I use it. Unlike lotion which can be thick and difficult to rub in - or body oil which can make you sticky and greasy - this serum is lightweight and easily absorbs into the skin. It’s fast-drying and leaves the skin with a natural glow. If you’re looking to finally give your skin the nourishment it deserves, I highly recommend adding this product to your routine.
