Vapour Beauty
It’s summer, and now more than ever, everyone is after the natural, “glowy” makeup look we all see on our Instagram feeds. Many brands are coming out with “no makeup” makeup products for the summer. If you’re like us and looking for a clean beauty brand, Vapour Beauty has you covered.
Vapour Beauty is a sustainable, female-owned beauty brand founded by Krysia Boinis and Kristine Keheley. The brand strives to transcend the boundaries between skin and makeup with their weightless formulas. Vapour Beauty is not only organic and clean, but also cruelty-free and environmentally conscious. Some 97% of Vapour Beauty’s products are formulated without water. The company is 100% solar powered and uses recycled packaging. The company even provides carbon neutral shipping. Vapour Beauty describes its products as “neither liquid nor solid,” but as “light and lucid, fluid and free.”
The first product I tried was a sample of the Essential Daily Primer. It is said to be a lightweight, super-fresh, skin smoothing prep that lasts all day. I put the primer on one side of my face to compare it. I noticed that the side I used the primer on looked more hydrated. It also felt softer and a bit plumper. The primer is made for all skin types and skin tones. I have sensitive skin and didn’t notice any irritation or redness. The primer is organic, mineral-derived, and plant-derived. It is made with Macadamia oil and Jojoba oil to both nourish and soothe the skin. It also contains ginger water to help even your skin tone and improve elasticity.
Next, I tried the Lux Conditioning Tint in the shade Hush. This shade is described as a smoky nude. It also comes in the shade Enchant, a dusty rose. The Lux Conditioning Tint is a tinted lip balm that is perfect for a no-makeup makeup look. I loved how nourished and soft it made my lips feel. I also loved the color. It matched the natural color of my lips and evened out the tone. It is made with an all-organic base and pure mineral pigments. It has the perfect amount of pigment for a lip balm and is good enough to wear on its own. You can even layer it on top of eyeshadow, blush, or lipstick!
The Highlight Stick was one of my favorite products that I received. It comes in one shade, Moonlight, a champagne gold. I applied the product to the tops of my cheekbones with my finger. I immediately noticed how creamy it felt. Even applied on top of my setting powder, it blended nicely. I don’t wear highlighters often because they either show my skin’s texture or look chalky. However, this product gave me a soft, natural glow rather than serving as a blinding powder. This product makes you look like you’re just naturally glowing from within. Although, if you love a blinding highlighter moment, this product topped with a powder highlighter would be killer.
Another product I received was the Bronzing Stick, which is meant to provide a golden-hour glow. It’s vegan, organic, plant-derived, and mineral-derived. It contains organic cocoa butter, organic shea butter, and organic sunflower to hydrate the skin. My skin tone is already golden, so it didn’t make me more bronze. However, it did provide a beautiful glow. I put this product to the test by only using it on one side of my face and then using a powder bronzer on both sides. On the side I used the stick on, I noticed my skin seemed to glow and my bronzer looked more blended and natural. On the other side, my bronzer was matte and looked harsher in comparison. I also used this stick on my eyes for a bronzy, summer makeup look. I put a brown eyeshadow in my crease, applied the Bronzing Stick and Highlight Stick to my lid using my fingers, and added a shimmery gold eyeshadow to top it off. Voilà!
The last product I tried was the Aura Multi Stick. This was the product I was most excited about and it did not disappoint. The Aura Multi Stick is an all-in-one product for cheeks, lips, and eyes. It’s the perfect size to take along in your bag when you’re on the go. The Aura Multi Stick comes in eight different shades. I received the shade Lure, a berry plum. I must say, I am extremely meticulous when it comes to lip products. I always wear a dark red lipstick, but this product just might be my new go-to for everyday makeup. It gave my lips a beautiful, natural-looking berry tint that complemented my skin tone perfectly. The formula is definitely buildable, but I actually loved the minimal look. On the cheeks, the stick is a dream. I applied it with my fingers and loved how lightweight and pigmented the formula was. I was thoroughly impressed by how flawless it looked on top of my makeup. I also loved how it looked on the eyes when I paired it with a shimmer eyeshadow. The stick is organic, plant-derived, and mineral-derived. It contains Frankincense, Myrrh, and Lotus to calm, soothe and protect. It also contains organic sunflower to provide hydration. It’s perfect for a natural, monochromatic makeup look. You’ll never have to worry about finding a lip color to match your eyeshadow or cheeks. FYI, this product blended with the Highlight Stick makes you look like a glowing, rosy goddess.
The best part about these products was that even though I was wearing highlighter, bronzer, blush, eyeshadow, and lip color, it didn’t feel like I was. I loved how natural the products looked in comparison to my usual makeup. I also love how these products were made to be used together. They all blend together beautifully on the face for a flawless, ethereal glow. If you want to leave your bathroom looking like you just got back from a summer abroad, grab these products from Vapour Beauty!
