You started acting at a very young age. How has that shaped the decisions you make about your career now?
Because I started so young, I think I just know the ins and outs of the business. I know how to handle it - I know how to separate it from my actual life, so all of that helps me mentally.  As far as projects go I think it's just ultimately about choosing roles that I think will challenge me and also choosing roles/characters that I truly love.

Your upcoming series, The Muppets Mayhem, will be released on Disney +. Could you tell us about the filming process and getting into the role?
Muppets Mayhem is hands down my favorite character and show I have ever worked on. There is something so special and surreal about working with characters with whom you grew up watching.  Our Muppet performers are so talented so you forget you are working with a puppet, and each character just comes to life right before your eyes. So being one of the main humans that gets to interact with them every day is such an amazing blessing and opportunity. People are truly going to fall in love with the show and I hope they fall in love with my character MOOG, who is special and I love him dearly. The show has so much heart and humor and it’s a perfect watch for people of all ages.

You’ve worked with Lilly Singh on The Muppets Mayhem. Could you tell us about that dynamic?
Working with Lilly is truly a joy. Our chemistry was instantaneous and I believe people will be able to feel on the screen. I'm so honored and thankful to have her opposite me in this show. The amount of laughs we had making the season I couldn’t even begin to tell you! She is so beautiful, so talented, and so hilarious and to be able to star alongside a person of color, like myself, is such a beautiful thing so I am very thankful. Hopefully people can see a bit of themselves in each of us.

So much of your life has been on screen, including your relationship with your sisters Tia and Tamera Mowry. How has that shifted your understanding of each other?
We learned at a young age to separate our jobs from real life so that in itself is a reason why we have managed to stay so grounded.  We cherish the brotherhood and sisterhood that we all have and learn from each other constantly. When we are together, it’s about family bond and love because that’s what matters.

Speaking of Tia and Tamera, what are some of your memorable moments of spending time with them both on and off set?
Memorable moments on set focus on working with a sibling. There is nothing quite like it. There is already built in chemistry and so jokes on set are always more fun and when you get into a scene it seems natural because you’re acting with someone with who you already have a history and connection.  Memorable moments off set are just any time we are all together as a family and getting to see little versions of themselves in their children. Our family get togethers are always the best.

Your iconic roles in both Smart Guy and Kim Possible are still talked about! What’s one of the most important lessons you learned from those experiences?
What I learned about Smart Guy and Kim Possible are what it takes to become iconic shows that stand the test of time. It helps me choose shows and projects now in my career because I know what a show needs to last because I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to be involved in more than one show that has stood the test of time. So now I know what to look for.

You shifted over to making music in the past years. How do you find that process interconnected with your other projects?
Music for me is a huge passion but it’s hard to do both at the same time so I have to be fully inspired in one or the other to be able to give my all to that passion. I hope in the future to be able to do a project where I can do both acting and singing so I can feed both passions at the same time. That's a goal of mine.

What are you excited to work on in the future?
I’m just excited to challenge myself with roles and projects. I want to do more writing and directing in the future as well. I recently finished writing my first screenplay and I am planning on directing it so I definitely want to write and direct more in the future and dip my feet into the Broadway world as well  to sing, dance, and act on the same project. This would be a dream.

What’s your favorite piece of television at the moment?
I'm obsessed right now with RINGS OF POWER and HOUSE OF DRAGON.
