LOEWE Magazine Issue Five Further Explores Its Dedication To Craftsmanship
Reaching its 178th year of craft, creation, and innovation, LOEWE originated in Madrid by a collaborative initiative with Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German leather craftsman, and a group of Spanish artisans. With a history as a supplier to the Spanish Royal Crown, LOEWE has evolved its brand identity towards valuing traditional craftsmanship with technological innovation.
Since 2013, Jonathan Anderson has been the creative director of LOEWE. He has pushed the design-oriented boundaries of the house by further exploring the threshold of genre-defining apparel and accessory collections. Through differentiating platform launches such as the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize, Anderson has led LOEWE to become a highly influential brand through recognizing the power of global diversification.
LOEWE Magazine Issue Five is LOEWE’s newest edition of their quarterly magazine. This edition revolves around the house’s most recent Spring Summer 2025 Collection and features an interview with Ben Whishaw, who delves into Peter Hujar’s works.
In addition, there are appearances by Baifern Pimchanok Ayo Edebiri, Drew Starkey, Leo Woodall, and Ambika Mod, as well as creative minds Sue Kroll, Richard Gadd, and Rose Wylie contributed to the magazine’s production.
Magazine viewers are able to immerse themselves into a fantasy football, casted by LOEWE United and the front row lineup at the Summer 2025 menswear show. Stars include Omar Apollo, Kit Connor, Pedro Almodovar, Jeff Goldbum, Kevin Abstract, and more. To fulfill the fantasy football experience, magazine viewers can formulate a team by trading and collecting sticker portraits of these stars.
Moreover, the Spring Summer 2025 menswear show displays the works of Charles Renne Mackintosh, Susan Sontag, Carlo Scarpa, Paul Thek, and Peter Hujar. LOEWE celebrates the winter holiday season with their second collaboration alongside Suna Fujita, a Japanese ceramicist. The magazine introduces the collaboration with an illustrative three-dimensional fold-out poster. Then, there are interviews that appreciate the works of oceanographers with a deep dive into the earth’s deep sea. Suna Fujita also implements a Pocket bag with a submarine embroidered to showcase the universal language of gift-giving.
LOEWE continues the exploration into the convergence of traditional craft and digital technology. With the evolution of specializing in luxurious leather goods, LOEWE also serves as a global inspiration. The dynamic balance between appreciating their Spanish heritage and globalizing fashion design recognizes their ability to stand as a futuristic-thinking brand.
