Schiaparelli Spring/Summer 2025
An avant-garde twist on modernized design. Schiaparelli sought for an extravagant, dramatic, and Haute Couture take on how contemporary fashion can look within the present.
Rooting from research upon ribbons from the 1920s and 1930s, the Schiaparelli SS25 Collection focused on the nourishment of material and products. The design process sprouted from past observations of Yves Saint Laurent, Paul Poiret, Charles Frederick Worth, and more.
The pieces’ silhouettes appreciate different types of smooth, curved, and wavy forms from the 1920s and 1930s. The 1950s – the second golden age of Haute Couture – was also acknowledged through the utilization of new structural yet proportionate techniques.
Elsa Schiaparelli’s infamous gowns were reimagined with materials such as polyamide tulle. Corsets were made with toile, wool cotton, and satin for the end finish. Accessories were embroidered and rendered with fine treatment.
With a contemporary twist on what “modernity” can mean in the fashion industry of this day, Schiaparelli experimented with a wide multitude of unconventional design, material use, and product curation. The Spring Summer 2025 is a newfound discovery for the Schiaparelli community, leading to the brand continuously being a global leader for fashion innovation.
