Jacquemus “LA CROISIERE” SS25 Collection
On January 26th, Jacquemus made their return to Fashion Week in Paris. Through a stylistic lens of appreciating the past and present, “La Croisiere” showcases the evolution of Jacquemus from the 1950s.
In the 1950s, a designer traversed through Paris to America. He exhibited his sense of couture fashion which converged French with Western and Hollywood styles.
The SS25 Collection specially presents the intertwinement of traditional and contemporized techniques of design, material, and creation. While raffia is featured as a embroidered textile, many patterns also appear in the collection’s pieces. For example, animal patterns, polka dots, and hand-painted stripes are seen in the apparel line.
Menswear looks are structural, clean, and sporty. Jacquemus utilizes a vibrant color palette with depth. Many photographs showcase black hues accentuated with orange, red, green, and banana yellow, which is seen as a Jacquemus motif.
The convergence of French and American styles are transparent especially through the footwear line. Tennis shoes and kitten heels are reimagined with new materials such as satin or faux ostrich. More accessories include umbrellas, totes, and more.
